			United States Congressman Clay and Friends co owner, Sherry Davidson, chat at the Foundation's annual Scholarship Brunch.   The group gave scholarships to several deserving high school students, along with sage advice on how to remain in good standing while at college.  Several graduates of the scholarship program spoke to the new grads, relating their personal success stories.  It was all quite inspiring.  Thanks to Michelle Clay and to Tanya for booking your event at Friends.  Congratulations to the Clays for your many contributions to the citizens of the area.

			K Jon at Friends hey, check out K Jon at Friends    After the Maze, Babyface Show, K Jon entertained at Friends.  He was such a hospitable guy-working the crowd, signing autographs and singing about his "ship has finally come"   Sherry and her friends were ecstatic because this is one of their favorite stepping songs.....

			Happy Hour @ Friends is is something you and your group can choose to do at Friends.  We help you to feature drink specials along with great tasting snacks.  Non alcholic drinks are available, so there is no reason NOT to come.  Your group can sponsor a happy hour where you invite your group to network and have some good clean fun.  We like to see you sponsor various events including comedy, talent nights, and more.  What a great way to spend Thursdays........Call for more info.   If you have at least 100 guests, there is no charge for the facility.   A great way to do a fund raiser if you sell tickets or charge at the door.  Think about it!!!

			"Dont Mess With Bill" Friends-A Meeting Place was the scene for the retirement party for Bill Parker.  The party was co hosted by beautiful wife, Catherine and friend Paula. On a Friday evening, a group of approximately 100 people proved that Friends is THE place for good friends, good food, and good clean fun.   Prior to his retirement on June 30, Mr. Parker served for 34 years with the St. Louis Public Schools as a teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, Assistant Superintendant, and, from the Central Office, as Executive Director of Parent and Student Engagement.  WOW!!!!  We were all so amazed and proud of his achievements-------the guy is so laid back and cool, one would never guess that he was this dynamic example of achievement.    The Parkers stated that "the Friends team was very impressive and greatly appreciated by all who attended our party.  Catherine and I thank you". And we thank You, Parkers for allowing us to share in your fantastic evening.

			All Star Event at Friends Friends-A Meeting Place was chosen as the venue for the Diversity Reception during All Star week. Officials from Major League Baseball in New York City and the St Louis Office of the Cardinals visited Friends in early May, and determined that we had the ambience that the group was looking for.  M L Baseball honored the providers of the all star games and services with the all expense paid event.  Friends-A Meeting Place collaborated with the Platinum Group, Inc.  and other vendors to make the event spectacular.  We look forward to more business with the Cardinals and with all of the headliners who attended.   Ice Cuisine provided a  fabulous ice sculpture of the stadium.  The shrimp laden piece provided a lucious focal point as guests entered the room.  Comfort and satisfaction of our guests is always a primary concern for Friends--no matter if you are with the Cardinals, or if you are having a small dinner for 20.   We work hard to ensure that all of our events will go down in history as "a home run".

			good frieinds equal GOOD TIMES

			Recently, Captain Mary Edwards Fears, presented an award luncheon for the policemen and women of her district.  Over 140 policemen, elected officials, and other guests attended.  The capable MC was Ms. Benita Cornute.  Officers were presented plaques for outstanding performance on the past year.  Several were honored for more than one instance of bravery and/or valor.  The staff at Friends was indeed proud to have such wonderful public servants on the premises.  We hope they come back again and again.  Photo shows Jean with Mayor Slay, one of the dignitaries who was in attendance.

			Theresa Davis and her dad are best friends.  "He has always been there for me," she stated.  Was he ever surprised when he walked into Friends on a Friday night, thinking he was going to someone else' dinner party. When all of his friends and family jumped out and yelled "Surprise" you could have knocked him over with a feather!!!   This surprise really worked.  Theresa says her dad had a great time. At Friends, we love to play a part in our guest's happy times. We all had bigger smiles on our faces than the party people.

			Bride and Groom This lovely couple was married in Hawaii, which is the home of the bride.  His parents introduced them to the St Louis family and community at Friends-A Meeting Place.  We wish LeeHow and "Candy Man" the very best.

			Jimmy and Audrey-Parents of the Groom This couple have been friends of Friends since before there was a Friends.   Jimmy and Audrey hosted their son's reception at Friends.  The couple have been an "item"for years.  While in Hawaii for their son's wedding, they "jumped the broom" themselves.  You go guys.  Congratulations for many more years of happiness.
